Much of my work includes circles, an endlessly fascinating shape. To dye these circles, I used quart-sized yogurt containers, cutting out the center of the lid, which left just the rim. Then I draped fabric over the container, secured it with the rim, and applied dye in various ways. I recently got carried away with blue circles in particular; every day new variations and shades of blue emerged from the dyepots. Finally they covered all the walls of my studio and it was time to start assembling quilts.
